A quick update:
We have recently finalised costs with the council for rent until our pursuit of a Community Asset Transfer is concluded. We are pleased to say we negotiated successfully to keep these costs as low as possible, despite protestation from the council property valuers. This will enable us to keep fees to parents low and salaries to staff reasonable.
We have appointed an Operations Manager, a new post with the transfer, to oversee the whole nursery and deliver the fundamentals to make it run the way the SunriSE founders envisage – the way that’s best for local people.
Our story was covered in three local newspapers last week. You might have read about and seen us in the South London Press, News Shopper or Southwark News, all reporting positively about the continuation of the nursery after the council withdraw.
